The origin of the Champaign comes associated to the brilliance of the Catalan viticulture of middle of s. The XIXth and to the reputation reached by Champagne at the end of s. The XVIIIth. The studies of Louis Pasteur's microbiology applied to the wine supposed the control of the second natural fermentation in bottle, and the discovery of the cork allowed to avoid the loss of the bubbles produced in the wine. The traditional method of production was born like that.

In this one s. The XIXth, several Sant Sadurní's families d'Anoia initiate the investigation of this new technology of production applied to the cultures of the zone. Fruit of his studies and tests, linked to the prestigious Agricultural Catalan Institute Sant Isidre, bets for the autochthonous varidades of white grape. The Champaign is born like that, with a peculiar identity own and different from any another frothy wine of quality.

In the 20s, the Champaign is consolidated on the Spanish market, reaching his great growth in the 60 and his international consolidation in the 80. Today it is one of the most dynamic wine and prosperous sectors with a production that overcomes 200 million bottles a year and that they come to consumers of the whole world. Nowadays the Champaign sells in more than 120 countries.
