Placed in a geographical privileged area, between Bordeaux and La Rioja, the climate and the soil are suitable for the culture of the grapevine. Two are the distinctive factors of the wines of Navarre: The natural special conditions of the zone: for his typical areas of the Mediterranean slope concerning the Ebro and his tributaries, for his great variety and wealth of shades, for the inclination of his hillsides, for the hours of sunstroke of his lands, etc. All these circumstances make possible the perfect maturity of the grapevines. The thousand-year-old tradition of the culture of the grapevine and his vinificación, where the processes of production, genuine and handcrafted of the wines, have been transmitted from generation to generation.

Stained Varieties

Authorized: Robe dyes, Mazuela, Merlot

Preferential: Fermentation, in absence of husks, of musts of stained grapes, exclusively, obtained for bled without intervention of any mechanical way that favors his extraction for increase of pressure or provokes the break of husks for friction, and previous maceration of those with the husks up to the attainment of the intensity colouring adapted. The maximum admitted performance of must of bled will be 50 liters for every 100 kg of grape, performance that will be able to be modified by the Regulatory Advice in equal conditions and terms in which there is modified the performance of transformation established in the article 11.

  • Great Reservation Wine. For the stained wines the period of aging will not be lower than two years in cask of oak, followed of three years in bottle, also as minimum. For the pink and white wines the period of aging will have a minimal duration of four years in cask of oak and bottle, not being lower, in any case, than half a year the time of permanency in cask of oak.
  • White Wine. Fermentation of musts of white grapes, in absence of husks and, in his case, preceded of maceration of these with the husks.
  • Muscatel Wine of liquor. Addition to must in fermentation, or wine, proceeding from grapes of the variety Muscatel of Tiny Grain, of alcoholic natural graduation not lower than 12 % vol, of wine alcohol of alcoholic content equal or bigger than 96 % vol, or of the mixture of this one with must. In case of being submitted to process of aging, will be able to be added must concentrated to the direct fire, of the varieties Muscatel of Tiny Grain and / or Robe.
