Celler Vermunver

Founded in 2004

Celler Vermunver is a small and young family enterprise located inside the people of Marçà, and belongs to the D.O. Montsant, one of two D.O. of the region of the Priorat.

This company is formed by some members of the family Vernet - Muntané, principally Roger Vernet Muntané who is the enologist, Josep M ª Muntané Barceló and Joan Salvador Vernet Peña that they are who they deal with the vineyards and also tasks of the warehouse help in them. In the year 2004 we overturn in the idea of the Celler Vermunver, an exciting bet that was consisting of creating our own wine. The task, though risked, it was well-taken well since we were possessing an excellent raw material and the shared illusion of beginning this project. The point of item is the joint vision of closing a natural circle: from the land to the glass. The environmental policy of the company bets for the recycling and the utilization of the residues that are generated in the production of wine, hereby the waste water, which are not pollutant, is spilt in a plot of exclusive use for this purpose, and the husk and other vegetable remains are in use as organic credit for the land.

The this warehouse placed in the low ones of a historical building of the people, Cal Nolla, a construction that dates back of ends of the 19th century. Our intention is to marry tradition and quality, that is to say, to elaborate a product of a handcrafted way without leaving aside the new technologies and the advances that these put us to the scope.

Since it is a question of a small production, we can allow us a treatment personalized in all the elements of the wine circle: accompanying the vine-stock during his vegetative cycle, during the vintage, when the cluster enters to the warehouse, and up to his bottleneck.
