Founded in 1952

Villarta, people of great wine tradition, receives his name of a former store of provisions of the Roman epoch. Placed to the southeast of Cuenca, in the region of the Manchuela, to 695 meters on the level of the sea, this villa there receives to the Wine Cooperative Dulce Nombre de Jesus, who is constituted en1952, fruit of the initiative of a group of vine-growers who bet for the transformation and commercialization of his wines.

At present the cooperative is composed by 670 partners, who cultivate 1.900 hectares of vineyards in a geographical privileged environment, on having been surrounded by the majestic Sickles of the Rio Cabriel and having bordered on the incomparable place of the Knives. The varieties that they have cultivated traditionally are the bobal (autochthonous of the D.O. Manchuela in which his wines take refuge) and the cencibel, but now also new plantations tell of cabernet sauvignon, syrah and graciano that they adapt very well to the continental climatology with Mediterranean influences of this zone. His culture is realized in dryness on limy, clayey and poor areas in organic matter. For the persons in charge of this initiative it is a pride to possess in his vineyards vine-stocks of an antiquity of more than 40 years, and especially, a gift for his better broths that are elaborated by the husks of great quality that produce.
