Celler Martín Faixó

Founded in 2001

We produce wines with Mediterranean expression: concentrates, with notes of species and culture near the ecological one. Inside the DO Empordan: the only and original region. It came from conviviality and of way of living in the Catalan Countries. It family came and craftsman.

In Cadaqués, our family, on the part of father (Martin) always he has devoted himself to the restoration and on the part of mother (Faixó) to the fishing and the agriculture, with vineyard. The relation of the Family Martin Faixó with the wine is daily, is a part of our economy and of the gastronomy of our restaurant. Our generation has grouped the vocations of both parts of the family with the creation of the winery Martin Faixó. The winery is placed in the farmhouse Perafita, dated back to the 16th century.

The winery is placed in Cadaqués's top, facing the sea, between Cadaqués's municipalities, Roses and Port of the Jungle, inside the DO Empordan. Perafita is to an altitude of 300m, surrounded with sea. The area of slate, mineralizado, with a production of 30Hl/ha. The tramontana, wind of the north, protects the sanitary condition of the vineyard. We are one of the only wineries placed in the center of the Nature reserve of Creus's End.

In 2000 in the areas of the grandparents Faixó, we plant 11 Has. of vineyard.

In 2004 we buy the Farmhouse Perafita, near the vineyards. We did the restoration of the farmhouse, creating the winery, the room of upbringing and the room of degustation. Our wines are of the Empordan, with great marine influence.
