Bodegas Valsacro

Founded in 1994

Two bets compatible mark the commitment of this family: Tradition in Bodegas Escudero Bodegas and Valsacro future. Two very different initiatives together while getting what Escudero Family does best: good wines.

In the past there were vineyards in Pradejón Hill, in the same area where the wineries are located currently, but stopped growing due to its low performance. Later, on the advice of his grandfather, the brothers decided Escudero start a new project in the same place, after finding that the land was suitable to get the wine they were seeking.

Valsacro meets an ambitious project Pradejón term, around Calahorra, in the heart of the Rioja Baja. On a farm called Finca "La Plana" sits the winery Chateau-style, with the vineyards surrounding the building. All winery is distributed around a courtyard Castilian.
The materials used in the construction of the winery have been chosen respecting the environment, using handmade bricks and natural stone. It has also been chosen native vegetation typical of semi arid, like thyme and rosemary. The cask has a natural insulation thanks to strategically placed on the grounds that it can regulate the temperature without wasting energy.
