DO CAMPO DE BORJA

Logo of the DO CAMPO DE BORJA
Young D.O., born in 1980, but that has could cross with determined and sure step the way towards the attainment of a few aims marked by the total quality in his wines and the conquest of the domestic and international markets. The D.O. "Campo de Borja" is integrated by the municipal areas of 16 peoples and there is placed to the northwest of the province of Saragossa, to 60 km from the capital, in a zone of transition between the mountains of the Iberian System and the Valley of the Ebro, the river that caresses his vineyard. The same one that few kilometres before crosses one of the most important wine zones of the world: Rioja.

Climate

The clump of the omnipresent Moncayo in the whole D.O. propitiates the implantation of a microclimate that influences notably, giving character to his wines. It is a very continental climate, with winter Atlantic influence which more prominent characteristic is the wind of NW, coldly and dry.And with summer Mediterranean influence. The thermal diurnal and seasonal contrasts are very marked, with extreme temperatures. The rainfall is scanty, placing in an average of 350 mm in low zones and of 450 mm in higher zones. The relief is a succession of high plateaus of altitude understood between 350 and 700 m, of soft topography with wavinesses of very wide curvature. The western part proves to be more injured by the presence of the buttresses of the clump of the Moncayo.
