Climate

Inside the continentalidad, the climate of the zone has many local fluctuations provoked by the relief, the altitude and the dampness of the closed valleys. The annual everage temperature of the city of Calatayud (placed in the deepest of the pit) is 13,8 degrees and the rainfalls of 434 mm. Nevertheless, to 300 ó 400 meters over his altitude, where the vineyards are placed, the temperatures are fresher and the rainfalls lightly top. The spring frosts are very frequent at the back of the closed valleys, which provokes continuous disasters in the fruit trees; but the vineyards are situated higher, escaping of the cold air that settles in the low lands without ventilation.
