The family Ramirez de la Piscina whose precedents in the Rioja go back at least to the 11th century, always has devoted himself to the culture of the grapevine and production of wines. The new Winery situated in San Vicente of the Sonsierra is provided with the modern mas systems of work and follows the long familiar tradition. It possesses 17 hectares of own vineyards in Ábalos and San Vicente of the Sonsierra, and acquire grape selected to vine-growers of the zone for the production of his wines. In addition he has all the elements necessary for the production and conservation these.

The Winery has a capacity of approximately 1.250.000 liters between Wineries of stainless steel and Wineries vitrified of concrete. In the underground frets of the Winery the wine ages in 1.100 casks bordelesas of American and French oak. In the same frets there is a bottle rack of approximately 500.000 bottles where the wine finishes his process of aging.

At present there are elaborated approximately 650.000 kilos of grape, destined to the production of young stained, pink and white wines. Approximately 250.000 liters are destined for upbringing, reservations and big reservations. The varieties of grape, that vinifican, they are: Tempranillo (100 %) for stained wines, and Robe (50 %) and Viura (50 %) for the pink ones and Viura (100 %) for the whites.

Since already we have indicated previously, the Winery is placed in the Region of The Sonsierra (Rioja Alta), to the north of the Autonomous Community of La Rioja and nailed between the river Ebro and Toloño's Saw. It is characterized for being the only zone of the above mentioned community located in the left margen of the Ebro, and the municipalities shape it of Ábalos, Briñas and San Vicente of the Sonsierra. This region, which is sheltered by the humid and cold Atlantic winds, and under the influence of the Valley of the Ebro, enjoys a climate of Mediterranean characteristics with an Atlantic microclimate, which together with the soil characteristics arcillo-calcareous and a solar orientation southwest, they do of the Region of the Sonsierra a zone favoured for the culture of the grapevine.
