Can Dez Mas - Ca N'Estruc

Founded in 1981

The estate Ca N'Estruc is placed in the hillside of Montserrat's mountain, in Esparreguera's municipal area (Barcelona) and is established to the world of the wine from 1548. Francisco Martí devotes himself to the culture of the vineyards of his property of 26 Hectares.
The vineyard is to 165 m of altitude on the level of the sea, has a specific microclimate and is protected from the cold winds of the north by Montserrat's mountain. This protection allows to enjoy of fresh summers and hot winters an annual everage temperature of 14,1ºC.

The alluvial and burdensome area produces low performances. The plantations are perfectly designed to optimize the effect of the Sun, studying in every plot and according to the variety, the frame of plantation adapted. The oldest vineyards before pruned in the shape of glass of 4 arms, they re-behave in vine arbours in system globelé (typical of the Rhône). The new plantations are aligned from north to south, led in vine arbours and with the first wire to 80 cm of the soil to favor a better ventilation, to avoid to the maximum the phytosanitary treatments and to obtain an unsurpassable health in the plant. A careful pruning and the clarified one of grapes in the moment of the envero allow to obtain a ripeness of the most balanced fruit.The winery is in the center of the estate, which allows that the transport of the grape should be very rapid. Small wineries of 2.500 L of stainless steel, with controlled temperature, do that it is a possible vinificar the musts of the different vineyards, classified both by age and by variety and to elaborate them separately up to the moment of the final assemblies.

They have casks of French oak, the cooperages Dargaud and Jaegle, Boutes and Seguin Moreau.
New plantations of syrah, petit verdot and tannat, are joining progressively in the production to contribute major complexity to the wines. Also they buy grape of vineyards selected to vine-growers of the zone
