Bodegas Otero, S.A.

Founded in 1911

Since in 1906 D. Juan Otero Colino it began in the world of the wine establishing itself in a small place of Benavente's villa. The years happen and when his son Manuel Otero joins to the company, it is decided start a project, cornered years behind, of constructing a Winery for the production of wine with the new plantations of vineyard of the region.

In 1950 it begins the emptying of what today is our underground Winery. Finally, in the vintage of 1952 it is achieved to elaborate a small test, but it is the vintage of 1953 the one that it marks the beginning of a new stage. June 25, 1965 constitutes the company Wineries OTERO, S.A..

At present, the facilities of Wineries Otero occupy a surface of 5.500 square meters, three familiar generations have happened and you rely on the support of more than 300 vine-growers that, year after years, they deliver his grapes in our chute and that also they bet for a future where the quality is imposed, restructuring his vineyards and realizing an economic effort and enormous personnel.

The reality of the Winery, after so many modifications and extensions, is as if out a great puzle whose pieces had been fitted during these 50 years, from a small underground Winery of beginning of the 20th century, giving him a very special configuration that surprises agreeably whom they us visit.
