Bodega Quinta Da Muradella

Founded in 2000

Jose Luis Mateo is one of few authentic vignerons of Spain. Jose Luis Mateo's project is born in 1991 and centres on Villa gives Muradella, a property of 14 hectares, distributed in small plots.

The diversity of varieties is one of his features diferenciadores. In inks they are Bastard, Mencía, Caíño Redondo, Caiño longo, Zamarrica, Brancellao, Sousón and Arauxa. Also they are testing with Red wine Serodio, Verdello Tinto, Robe Tintorera, Touriga Nacional, Blackish Pointed, Syrah.

In white it is Donates White, Treixadura, Verdello and Monstrous of Monterrei, with tests of Blond Bastard, Torrontés, Albariño and Sauvignon Blanc.

It has done all the Jose Luis Mateo's new plantations with material proceeding from a selection masal of the oldest vineyards. The whole vineyard is cultivated following strictly the beginning of the ecological agriculture and biodinámica.

In the year 2000 Jose Luis enters in touch with Raúl Perez and together they start designing the different wines that now are commercialized.

The different varieties and the different estates are harvested and are elaborated separately. For the fermentation the wood or the stainless steel is in use depending of every add. There are no fixed rules of time of upbringing, not of the type of upbringing but the characteristics are studied of every add and it is operated following the intuition to manage to reflect the peculiar characteristics of this singular terroir.
