DO ALMANSA

The D.O. Almansa places to the east of the province of Albacete, bordering on Alicante, Valencia and Murcia. He understands eight municipal areas: Almansa, Alpera, Bonete, Corral Rubio, Higueruela, Hoya Gonzalo, Pétrola and the pedanía of El Villar de Chinchilla. The viticulture in Almansa's surroundings has developed without interruptions from the 16th century. This wine region placed to approximately 700 m of altitude, is the most oriental of Castile-La Mancha.

Climate

Almansa's climate is slightly less extreme than that of La Mancha, but the summers are also very warm, with temperatures that come easily to the 40 º C. The average rainfalls are of scarcely 350 mm per year.
