Pruno 2010 and the Parker effect
The winery Finca Villacreces belongs to the DO Ribera del Duero, has been multiplied by four requests for its wine Pruno 2010, after achieving the highest score ever achieved by a national expert broth American critic Robert Parker, 94 points out of 100 in the price category of less than 15 euros (20 dollars).
In the criticism that Parker did in 'The Wine Advocate' last June 30, 2012, a publication reference in the world of wine, you could read words like "spectacular" or "stunning". "It's a wine for which you expect to pay 75 to $ 150, however, this gem can be yours for $ 20 or less," wrote the renowned taster.
The winery Finca Villacreces de Ribera de Duero expects to sell 300,000 bottles in three months of Pruno 2009 and 2010, of "Finca Villacreces" (100,000 bottles) and "Nebro" (1,500 bottles).
"Now sell in three months before we did all that in one year and will be a shortage in the market for a while until it comes out the next vintage of Pruno 2011," said the director of the winery Lalo Anton. 60% of the stock is destined for export, mainly to the United States and other European countries like England and Germany.
Group sales in 2011 were closed in around nine million euros and volume occurred about 1.8 million bottles.
