Burn the winery Martín Berdugo

The fire started shortly after half past nine p.m. and caused severe damage to the winery Martín Berdugo of Aranda de Duero, in the heart of the denomination of origin Ribera del Duero, where the facilities.

Eyewitnesses claimed that one of the ships of the winery was completely burned and the flames were very virulent and reach several meters high.

Although firefighters suggest that the fire could have been caused by lightning in the area since there was a lightning storm, have warned that must await further research to be sure.

The wineries Martin Berdugo started as family project in 1990, but it was in 2000 when they built the winery and began bottling its own brand of what until then had been sold to third parties. The winery has an estate of over 100 acres surrounding the facility, where more than 700 wooden barrels produced each year some 400,000 bottles of wine covered by the DO.

The facilities of the prestigious Bodega Martin Berdugo are spearheading the vanguard enoarquitectura in Ribera del Duero. The draft prepared by architects Vicky Daroca and Maria Viñé was recognized in 2005 by the prestigious German magazine Bauwet with the award for best European design construction category.
