Founded in 1989

AGAPITO RICO, S.L. has created of D.Agapito Rico's hand, and in Jumilla's zone (Murcia) a few Young wines, Upbringing and Reservation abundances of color, body, character and diversity, defying to the Nature and being a pioneer in planting grapes of an Italian viverista. Result, these broths are estimated from Japan to Australia.

In 1985 the first vineyards stand firm and already in 1990, there is founded as such, the winery AGAPITO RICO, S.L. that possesses today 120 Hectares of own vineyards, where they find the varieties of Tempranillo, Monastrell, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah.

Under CARCHELO's label (for Carche, the highest second mountain of Murcia) there take place Young Wines, Varietales de Merlot and Syrah, Upbringing of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and Reservation. Of the first bottle commercialized in 1990, today a million bottles are elaborated a year, exporting 80 % of the production to 17 countries of the world: Japan, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Mexico and to others of Europe.

First of all, the owner of this winery considers vine-grower, of there that bets over everything, for a good quality of his vineyards, base to obtain a great wine that here grows up with an exhaustive control, to produce a few only red wines in the zone. In his constant evolution, the extensions of the vineyards do not stop. D. Agapito has planted 40.000 feet of syrah on a total of 18 Hectares, which " it will give that to speak " because it is a great variety of the south, of the Sun and of the hot and dry climates.

Asmimismo, is foreseen to construct a ship of aging that might shelter 2.000 casks, a number till now unthinkable in the region to create Jumilla's wines.

All this to compete in a sector, where according to the same owner, D. Rich Agapito, has a good time every day of a major acceptance, since there are done good wines that approach little by little the existosos of France.
