Founded in 1981

Wineries Benetakoa like her we know today, it was founded in 1981 by Carlos Martinez de Cañas. Though the viticulture has been a centenary tradition in the family Martinez de Cañas, and there are great the forbears who devoted themselves to spoil and to learn of the land and of the grapevine to teach to elaborate generation after generation an exceptional wine with body, alive and fresh color, and a penetrating and light aroma to the palate that they do of him a pleasure for the senses.

In 1988 it extended his facilities inaugurating a new Winery in Villabuena's high part, preserving, nevertheless, the taste to the traditional thing and to craftsman who was breathed in the Carlos Martinez de Cañas's first Winery.

In the year 2001, Gorka Martinez de Cañas, son of the founder of Wineries Benetakoa, Carlos Martinez de Cañas, takes the reins of the Winery. After years of learning together with his father in the field and in day after day of the Winery and with the technical necessary formation to continue with the familiar tradition without Gorka Martinez de Cañas to resign the technological advances it is consolidating all the work that his father initiated since it took the decision to create his own Winery betting day after day for the quality.
