The family Ametller goes devoting itself to the culture of the vineyard in the Catalan region of The Penedès from the first half of the 19th century.
The founder of this vine-growers' saga was Joan Ametller Fortuny, who established in the population of Sant Martí Sarroca (in the north part of The Penedès) in the year 1824, proceeding from Salomó's locality, in the neighboring province of Tarragona.
In the year 1832 he acquired the minuscule exploitation at the time that, in the course of the years, would transform in the current Homestead Ametller.
His descendants were developing the wine exploitation and elaborated broths that were distributed by the traditional channels of bulk in this epoch.
The enology that points at the new millenium has stated since the final quality of the product comes predetermined by what happens in the initial phase of this wonderful process: the evolution of the grape in the vineyard.
