Founded in 1986
Viñas del Vero it owes his name to a river of the region of the Somontano, at the foot of the Pyrenees, famous for his ravines, throats and cannons. Viñas del Vero S.A. it is established in Somontano at the end of 1986 by the acquisition of 550 hectares of area in Barbastro and other nearby populations. In 1987 the areas begin to be replanted by vineyards of the traditional varieties of the region (Tempranillo, Moristel, Robe and Macabeo), together with others of different origins (Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir).
The first wines of the Winery appear on the market in the spring of 1990 and are elaborated in an experimental Winery of Salas Bajas. In 1987, the company had acquired the estate "San Marcos" for the construction of the new Winery, which would be inaugurated in July, 1993. In her, there develops the whole process of production of the Viñas del Vero, from the selection of the vintage up to the upbringing and the bottling. The Winery has a capacity of 70.000 hectoliters and possesses 250 Wineries of stainless steel and 8.000 casks of American and French oak.
Actuellement, Viñas del Vero c'est la première cave de la dénomination de Somontano par son volume et qualité de production. L'entreprise dispose de 1.100 hectares de vignoble et produit 6,5 millions de bouteilles par an. Les vins de la cave peuvent se trouver dans plus de 40 pays de tout le monde.

This hidden valley is the latest discovery VdV winemaking. Secastilla is located in a unique setting Somontano northernmost and has distinct growing conditions for growing grapes for its Mediterranean microclimate. Here we grow 48 acres of organic vineyard located on rocky hillsides above 700 meters above sea level. In this valley we have recovered very old vines of Grenache, Secastilla traditional variety and we have done plantings of Grenache and Syrah.
