La Seca, placed in the center of Rueda, the heart of Castilla la Vieja, is the mother land of Wineries Vidal Soblechero. A few years ago the family Vidal Soblechero took the decision to take his deep experiéncia in viticulture to a new dimension. There had to be born a small Winery, conscious of wanting to be different from a few neighboring Wineries that they covet for heaps of bottles. The quality should be the first attention. The most important thing, a sufficient quantity of old vine-stocks, was developed by Claudio Vidal Obregón, the still responsible one for the vineyards, continued during the last forty years.
To elaborate wines of high expression that reflect both the character of the region and the tradition of the varieties verdejo and thin ink is the aim. Today the Winery is directed by the children of Claudio Vidal, Alicia and Vidal.
Alicia Vidal, mother of a daughter, is a very dynamic and consistent general manager. Alicia is the person in charge of the sales, of the marketing and of the general decisions of the Winery. His brother Vidal Vidal is the technical director, responsible for the production.
Though it is very established in the region, it demonstrates with many experiments, specially in apart from this one Winery in Rueda you upset secondhand fermentation in casks, increasingly, that Rueda it might offer more of white clean and fresh wines. Diego Perez, the butler, is well soul of the Winery.
And, there is a fifth worker in the Winery with a very important employment. It is the falcon of the family. He is the manager in the vineyards of banishing to the birds and other animals of the grapes. Since reward is represented, stylized, in the label of every bottle Viña Clavidor.
