Founded in 1998
The legend tells that some nights, while they were going fishing, the ferrymen of the Puerto de la Cruz were in the habit of sighting the solitary light of a lantern indicating that a monk was fulfilling penance in his cell of the old monastery.
It arose from there the name of El Penitente, started to this band of the coast and to the producing Wineries of these wines: Arautava, Wineries of Miranda, Tanganillo and Cruz del Teide.
