Lagar de Isilla, Winery founded in 1997, occupies a oenological scenic space of extraordinary historical importance in Ribera del Duero at the Burgos region. In the same Winery, hundred years ago, the arandino Calixto Seijas began to elaborate, to bottle and to age the first red wines of the zone. Today, Jose Andrés has built, at the entrance of La Vid (village and monastery), a modern Winery in which they elaborate and age the El Lagar de Isilla wines.
Actually, they are two wineries; the historical one placed in the center of Aranda de Duero, which is formed by a series of underground galleries excavated to 12 meters of depth as far back as the XIIIth and XIVth century. And the modern one located in an estate named The Casona of La Vid, a 1890 colonial house that it has been suffering different modifications and restorations. At present it possesses a complex of wine - tourism and gastronomy, as well as a modern equipment for the vinification and own vineyards, the half of them they have an age of between 50 and 70 years.

The team of "La Esencia Del Vino" visited by Aranda Del Duero wine tourism, during which we visited the winery facilities "Lagar de Isilla" (in the village of La Vid, about 20 kilometers from Aranda de Duero) . We recommend this visit, it is a great way to spend a Saturday with friends entertained.
