DO VALDEPEÑAS

The wine and Valdepeñas are associated from immemorial times. Though the first information in the Iberian Peninsula speaks to us of more than 3.000 years of existence, in Valdepeñas's region the vestiges become palpable in the remains of pips of grape that were found in the Iberian deposit of the Hill of the Heads, which was occupied between the VIIth and IVth century b.C. Hereinafter they can find references of the stages Roman, visigoda and Muslim, to the present day.

Climate

Placed to 705 meters of average altitude. The climate is different of the big factors that the miracle makes possible. With a continental and dry climate, 80% of the clear days and more than 2500 hours of the Sun. The maximum temperatures overcome the 40ºC and the minims -10ºC and even low. The annual everage temperature is of 16ºC. The rainfalls are scanty, between 200 and 400 liters a year. The number of rainy days ranges between 60 and 70, producing more intense rainfalls to him in spring and they are in the habit of being of short duration and stormy character. All these characteristics establish a process of suitability without equally for the wines of the zone.
