DO COSTERS DEL SEGRE

Raimat, Artesa, Vallde Ríu Corb and Les Garrigues is four subfields leridanas that integrate the D.O. Costers del Segre. Raimat, of small extension but big in quality, is placed westwardly of the capital leridana, near the limit of Huesca. Nailed in one of the agricultural zones most developed of the country, this region is characterized by his soft relief. It relies on a tradition that it includes three quarters of century and a vineyard, perfectly cultivated of select varieties, that by means of careful practices of production produces white wines of great delicacy and sensitivity, red wines of elegant complexity and balance, as well as frothy of great personality and wealth in shades. Artesa, it is located to the northwest of the capital, in a rough territory that crosses the river Segre from this one to west. This wine region characterizes for a very extreme climate, of specially rigorous and long winters, which forces to cultivate varieties to short cycle: Macabeo, Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon. There are elaborated whites, red wines, and pink. Vall de Ríu Corb and Les Garrigues, belongs to the depression of the Ebro, in the south-east of the province, adjacent between yes and both with that of Tarragona. They are dry, arid lands, of high sunstroke that excellent ripeness and health provide to the vineyard. There take place white and stained wines, Francs and robust, emphasizing his alcoholic graduation.
