The wine will be taxed at 21%.

The VAT increase will affect all products and services except those taxed at the super-reduced rate of 4%, considered as food (bread, milk, eggs, fruits, vegetables, cereals, cheeses), medicines, books and newspapers, among other items.

 The winemakers fear the increase in VAT and the abolition of the Christmas bonus to staff may cause a drop "spectacular" in consumption.

According to consumer organizations, the increase in VAT will increase by an average annual household expenditure of between 415 euros and 600 euros.
