Different written references date Amunategi's txakolí in the year of 1812.
The building of the winery, it was constructed in 1849 since there prays the inscription that appears in the front of the own building, nowadays restored and in the one that has installed to himself a modern winery of last generation.
The hamlet and the vineyard of 17.000 square meters, they are in a dominant position on the valley of Saint Bartholomew in Busturia, in soft hillside of south orientation that takes as a bottom of valley the marshes of the Reservation of Urdaibai's Biosphere and as horizon the closing of the hydrographic basin headed by the mounts Oiz and Illunzar as higher tops and the most nearby mounts of San Miguel of Ereñozar and San Pedro of Atxarre.
This privileged location, the conjunction of tradition and passion for the wine, together with the coupage of varieties of grape that is realized, do of the txakoli Amunategi a wine with a range of constant quality throughout the years with an aroma, flavor and texture differentiated.
