The family San Pedro elaborates wines of a handcrafted way in Laguardia, Rioja Alavesa, for more than 500 years, there is witness of it in numerous documents, San Pedro knows himself the existence of our surname in ecclesiastic documents of the zone from ends of the 15th century.
Carlos San Pedro Perez de Viñaspre goes elaborating young as wine-producing wine from 1960 though previously already he had collaborated with his family in the production of wines, his forbears obtained prizes with his young wines in the zone in the year 1932 and 1955.
The current name, Wineries Carlos San Pedro Perez de Viñaspre, was adopted in 1981 when one begin to form a part of the D.O.Ca. Rioja.
During the first years only there were elaborated young wines that were selling in his most in the Basque Country. Beginning to elaborate wines for upbringing from 1997 without leaving for it the production of young wines of quality.
