Founded in 2005

Wineries this Montsalla placed between Navarrete and Fuenmayor, wine-growing excellent zone of the Rioja. It is a family enterprise with a great wine tradition in the Rioja. Descendants from D. Félix Azpilicueta Martínez and co-founders of Wineries AGE. His labor has been continued as the years went by introducing modern systems of production and upbringing.

Wineries Montsalla, it began his gait as new entity in the year 2005, though always without stopping elaborating in his former Wineries and frets, nowadays visitables though not in functioning, placed in the people of Navarrete. Frets with more than 250 years of history where D. Cayo Santaolalla Azpilicueta was elaborating his wines that were taking AGE to themselves. In 2005 it was decided to give an impulse of modernization to the Winery realizing a great effort and placing it in his current emplacement. Inside the innovative zeal there was implanted a new system of production that allows a major utilization of the Wineries thanks to the system Ganimede.

Our production comes from vineyards in property, taken personally, which allows us to control the parameters wished to elaborate our wines. All the vineyards are in Navarrete and Fuenmayor, zones of great wine-growing tradition. The beginning of the vintage, it takes place at the end of September and beginning of October. For 15 days the Winery lives through the most intense moments of the year. There are elaborated approximately 300.000 Kilos of grape, quantity that gives us the possibility of taking a careful control of the process and of obtaining products of extraordinary quality.
