Bodega Luis Cañas is a familiar Winery that dates back to 1.928, though the family goes more than two centuries devoting itself to the viticulture and to the production of wines. Nevertheless, it is in 1.970 when LUIS CAÑAS goes out to the market commercializing harvester's jammed solid wines. From this date it is when it experiences an ascent in commercialization and one starts preparing what is nowadays one of the top Wineries of Rioja Alavesa.
1.989 it marks a new milestone in to develop of the Winery when to take the reins of same Juan Luis Cañas, the only son of D. Luis Cañas. At his 33 years it brings new airs to the Winery and begins to elaborate new wines and promoting increasingly the wines of upbringing while it starts outlining what later will turn into the new Winery.

The 2012 has been a good year for Bodegas Luis Cañas. Not only because five of its wines have managed to overcome the difficult barrier of 90 points Parker, but also because one of them (Luis Cañas Crianza 2009) has been considered the best wine in value. This published in the prestigious magazine Wine Advocate, who heads the prestigious Robert Parker.
