Bodegas Don Balbino

Founded in 1924

The origins of this Winery go back a year 1924, when D. Jose Fernandez, vine-grower of Lapuebla de Labarca, decides to elaborate his crop. Today she is directed by his grandson Balbino Fernandez Palacios, young woman businessman, who has given new airs to the harvester's traditional Winery, centring on the production of Reservations and Big Reservations, under the traditional system.

The Winery possesses thirty hectares of own vineyard in the payments of El Soto, Ribartayo, Llana Ortuño, La Pasada, La Póveda and El Orao.. A production of approximately two hundred thousand kilos of grape. The production is realized in six lakes of concrete, for the traditional system of entire grape (carbonic maceration).

The wine like that obtained will suffer later a process of aging in thousand two hundred new casks of American oak, which shelters the ship of Upbringing. Fifty thousand numbered bottles are commercialized under the brand 'Don Balbino' and Meritisimus approximately hundred, between Upbringing, Reservation and Great Reservation.

In Wineries Don Balbino elaborates the own crop according to the centenary tradition of the butlers Riojanos Comercializando every Year approximately 500,000 bottles of Upbringing, Reservation and Great Reservation.
