Founded in 1988

The family Chivite is an owner of Wineries DO NAVARRA, Winery which origins go back to the first half of 16th century. The important impulse produces to itself in 1860 when in the French vineyards it appears a plague of oidio sinks the crops. Claudio Chivite Rández, great-grandfather of the current owners, was useful to take his wines to the neighboring country and to found the Winery " The Cascajera ", former quarry of stone, which it remains in functioning in his emplacement in Cintruénigo.

One of his grandsons, Julián Chivite Marco, father of the current owners, started in 1955 elaborating jammed solid wines. Wineries Julián Chivite is one of the most ancient Wineries of Navarre and of Spain. Arínzano's dominion: the family Chivite bought in 1989 the estate, in Aberin.

The dominion of the 11th century possesses an extension of 275 hectares, of which 160 are covered of vineyards.

In middle of the estate rises a tower of the Palacio de Cabo de Armería of the 12th century, a small church of St Martin of neoclassic cut of beginning of the 19th century and a casona of the 18th century. Three buildings turn out to be embraced by a simple and functional Winery designed by the architect Rafael Moneo. Close to Arínzano's Dominion, another estate called Legardeta's Dominion and cover of hillsides with 350 hectares, of which 310 are cul tivables, it has been acquired in 1999 to add it to the first estate. The group also possesses from 1998 Viña Salceda, in the D.O.C. Rioja alavesa. In 2001 it bought and planted 60 hectares of vineyard on La Horra (Rivera del Duero).
