Vicente Muñoz Muñoz is the founder of Wineries Abadía la Arroyada. It descends from a family of long tradition in the Viticulture. His grandfather, Vicente Muñoz, already was devoting himself at the beginning of the 20th century to elaborate big quantities of wine that then was selling between the inhabitants of the zone. Some of the vineyards that this first Vicente Muñoz planted still are in use today for elaborating some of the best wines of Abadía la Arroyada.

Later the parents of Vicente Muñoz, Lucila and Julián, were employed for many years at the vineyards that they inherited and great others that planted to elaborate broths that later were tasted in the peoples near to Terradillos de Esgueva, having great success between the inhabitants of these peoples, and of "strangers" or " vacationers who were coming in the epochs of vacations.

Since he might not be otherwise Vicente Muñoz I continue the above mentioned path, first taking care of the vineyards belonging to his family and later planting great others up to coming to the current surface in production of 20 hectares. Initially, before the inability to carry out the project to found a Winery, it had to sell the grapes, but after a time it decided, in 2002, to embark in the adventure of elaborating his own wines, and supported by his wife, Teresa Samaniego, and for his children Ignacio and Ángela, founded Wineries Abadía la Arroyada.
