Bodega Palacio de Villachica
Founded in 2000
The Winery takes his name of D. Luis Villachica, person of great fortune who during Mendizabal's disentailment bought estates in Spain, between them this one, who is in Pago de San Andrés of the municipal area of Toro.
The above mentioned estate happens to belong to his natural daughter D ª Victorian Villachica, which gives the orders to construct a mansion wherefrom it takes names the Winery. This one expires without descent and the estate is donated to the Diocese of Zamora.
At the end of the eighties it is acquired by D. Ángel San Miguel de Pablos, and in 1999 it embarks with great illusion in the construction of the Winery, elaborating his first wine in the year 2000.
It is included inside the Regulatory Advice of the D.O. Toro, institutional independent organism, which realizes the control of the quality of the grapes and of the wines that are elaborated in this region. Near the locality of Toro, Villachica's Palace is opposite to the river Douro.
It possesses 50 hectares of vineyard of soil composed by a superficial French - sandy cap, which favors an excellent ripeness. The second clayey cap allows us to give an own character and of quality to the grape Tinta de Toro.
