Bodega Coop. Agrícola de Petrer

Founded in 1908

The cooperative was founded in the year 1.908, as SINDICATO Agrícola Y CAJA RURAL DE AHORROS Y PRESTAMOS, for 24 farmers of Petrer, with the ideal one of acquiring together all the products that they needed. For exigency of the Bank of Spain and to be able to serve also to the local industry, it was necessary to separate the agricultural activities of the monetary ones and with this end the Union Cooperative of Credit was created (today CAJA DE CREDITO DE PETRER) that assumed the bank movements and of saving of the CAJA RURAL DE AHORROS Y PRESTAMOS, being today one of the most important entities that gives these services (inside our area).

Apart from the purchase of products and administration of his savings, the first joint service that gave the cooperative to his partners was that of oil-mill. The first oil-mill started working in the year 1.912, in the street Sancho Tello. At the beginning of the 60 it was moved to the street Sax.

In the year 1.953, there were inaugurated the facilities of Elda's Avenue. These facilities belonged until middle of the eighties to the Vine-growers' winery San Isidro, an entity "relates" of the Agricultural Cooperative, while they were sharing social base and managerial charges. Therefore, until middle of 80 the facilities are destined exclusively to the labors of winery. The Agricultural Cooperative San Isidro collaborated in the financing for the construction of these facilities with newly Vine-growers' created winery at the beginning of the decade of the 50. The winery appeared with the intention of centralizing a wine production that till then was distributed between the hundreds of small and medium wineries located in the houses and Petrer's fields.

In the middle of the 80 Agricultural Cooperative and Vine-growers' winery fuse San Isidro. At the end of the above mentioned decade the oil-mill, which up to this moment was located in the street Sax, moves to Elda's avenue, where it remains up to the current importance. In the year 2.002, it is renewed and the oil-mill is extended by an extractor continuous second, and increasing the capacity of the mixer. In the year 2.006, he competes for the continuous extraction to 2 phases, changing great part of the machinery, to adapt it to this new system, which is more beneficial for the environment.

In the year 2.001, one installs a shop COARVAL (shop of supplies), to be able to give more service to our partners, which is growing to the same level that the rest of services that offer.
