Founded in 1896

Paternina is a Spanish leading company in the production, upbringing and bottling wine of Rioja, Jerez and Ribera del Duero. In Haro's Winery, science and technology alían to serve to the most ancient wine tradition, since it possesses sophisticated facilities. It is born to satisfy the increase of the demand that Ollauri was exceeding, obtaining with this extension one considerable I increase of the production. It is a great installation, of the major ones of Europe, with a total surface of 87.000 m2.

In 1896 D. Federico Paternina Josué it founded Wineries Paternina in Ollauri, set formed by three Wineries with approximately thousand casks of American oak; being in 1922 when there are acquired the Wineries of the Cooperative of the Agricultural Catholic Unions in Haro.

In 1984 the company is acquired by the Riojan businessman Marcos Eguizábal Ramirez and is in 1990 when the modernization of the facilities begins, incorporating new technology both in the production and in the bottling.

In 1994 the merger produces to itself for absorption of the signature jerezana Wineries Internacionales, giving origin to the Division Jerez de Paternina and four years later there goes out to Stock exchange Federico Paternina S.A. being in the year 2000 when the new Winery inaugurated Ribera de Duero in Quintana del Pidio, so called " Marques de Valparaiso ".
